Prediction 2

Iran will achive neuclear weapons on Obama's watch. The waffeling and stalling for time currently underway is the same as we experienced from Sadam Heusien. The Europeans looked to us for action then (just as they are doing now) because they have not taken individual action since WW II. It is the U.S. that has picked up the defence of Europe for 60 years. Obama is very weak on international power politics and the people who surrond him match his lack of expertese. He is convinced that talking things over with the enemy is all that is needed. Temporizing with such an enemy will not succeed. They want to deal death to their enemies. We can only pray that once the Iranians begin to lob neuclear missiles Obama is not the person in charge to create a response.

  • Are you refering to the Sadam Heusien who turned out not to have WMDs. Let us hope this is a replay.

Could you point out some (just some) of the Europeans that looked to us for action. My recolection is they wanted no action.

  • Marty,
British, Germany, Spain (although Spain pulled their troops after the bombings) and Poland. They are with us when we do the heavy lifting.

What do you think of the prediction?

  • I predict that Israel will not stand by and let Iran get a nuke. I believe they know exactly what they are dealing with with our American President and will take action on their own to guarentee their nations survival, just like every other soverign nation has the right to do.

  • David,
Normally I would agree with you on this. However, Israel would need us to resupply them during the ensuing war and can they be confident that would be the case. Can they even be sure that we would not back Iran when they ask for sanctions against Israel?

  • If a war were to occur between Israel and Iran I just can't imagine we would back Iran. I could see us remaining "neutral" and aiding Israel behind the scenes, but how can we turn our backs on our only real friend in the region? Plus our President would lose the Jewish vote and I've got a feeling he's going to need every vote he can get, manufacture, coherse or whatever.
