Learning It Late

The manner of passing the health bill has been an eye-opener to me. As more than a casual observer of the political scene and not naive about the ways of the world, I thought I understood the legislative process. Bribery, a political sin, has always been with us and we would hear about it every year or so; usually in the context of someone being indicted. This health bill has brought sunshine to the process, a clarity of understanding I had not thought would ever happen. Brazenness, boldness, lying and backroom dealing became the ordinary course of dealing with the process. Yet, we are told that it is always done this way. It can't be true, and if it is then it is necessary to change it all. All the more imperative to enact GOOOH.

  • A friend of mine was involved a few years back in lobbying congress to pass a law which would make it easier for kidney patients to obtain needed treatment under medicare. The treatment was less expensive than the alternative resulting complications from non-treatment.

She is the president of Renal Support Network and she has written books and done speaking tours on behalf of kidney patients for many years. She is a leading expert and an empassioned voice for that group. The proposal she supported was logical and supported by medical experts. Should be a no-brainer.

She was thoroughly disgusted at how congress did their jobs. She said that making a law is like making sausage--absolutely disgusting.

  • If members of government followed the same practices in the commercial world they could be sent to jail.
Both political parties abuse the process. Therefore, neither holds the moral high ground when they object to abuse by the other party. That is why I agree with GOOOH.

  • All the different types of weight products that are based on the lida cactus plant contain a natural appetite suppressant. When this suppressant enters your system, it tricks your brain and makes you think and feel that you are not hungry so that you will not eat food or eat only a small quantity.
